I have been a healthy, food-loving vegetarian for 30 (yes, 30!) years. And I can't help but be mostly "counter culture," about the critical issues of the times that unfortunately keep on keepin' on.
So, no, I don't (didn't) eat at McDonald's. I am disgusted by fast food and am horrified by the regularity with which so many partake. BUT ....
Ronald McDonald House totally saved the sanity of my niece whose child has been life-challengingly ill (despite his happy face for real!) during his first 5 months of life. While in Cincinnati for special surgery they took care of her lovingly and warmly. When her son came out of the hospital, they made them both so comfy, SO happy.
I've researched the connection and while the fat and burgers may not be funding this significantly at his point, they are still part of it.
