Compact Fluorescent Recycling

You now have another way to recycle your dead compact fluorescent light bulbs, you can take them with you to Ikea. The store's new program allows you to bring in any brand of CFLs thus preventing the toxic mercury within from ending up in landfills.

Does anyone know who recycles them for Ikea? I've been told they can do so safely, but the top post about e-waste reminds me that this isn't always the case and makes me a bit concerned about who Wal-Mart and others would turn to.

ps - I'm still glad they do it.
