Earlier this year I was asked to design the first season brochure for the newly created Atwater Village Theatre in Los Angeles, which was formed from two existing companies: Circle X and Ensemble Studio Theatre LA.
The goal with this piece was to create something that represented the merger of these two theaters and gave some insight into the individual shows. We decided on a concept that allowed for the brochure to work as a whole, but contained components that could be used for the individual shows throughout the season. The result was a play on the classic exquisite corpse images of people made from various slices.
On a side note, I was honored to be given a Judge’s Choice award for the this piece at the recent AIGA Richmond GRADE (Greater Richmond Area Design Excellence) event.
